Packaging Buyer & Budget Controller
Planning Administration – Procurement Management
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for managing all aspects of sourcing and inventory management for all packaging materials. This role functions as the budget controller for the tooling budget.
Outline of Duties:
- Research, source, and select suppliers to meet packaging design requirements
- Responsible for sourcing, negotiating pricing, and processing and expediting orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Effectively manage relationships with suppliers
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers to ensure reliability and quality
- Prepare and place purchase orders
- Lead company cost reduction activity
- Cost structure and supply-chain analysis
- Supplier negotiation
- Contract management activity
- Function as Budget Controller for tooling budget. Assist with cost reduction activity and budget analysis
- Managing of vendor tooling payment
- Asset management and tracking
- Some availability needed after hours for video meetings with Japan as well as coverage during weekends and shutdowns to support supplier and Subaru of America (SOA) activities.
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field of study plus 1-3 years relevant experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field of study
- Understanding of purchasing and product development process
- Production process background/knowledge
- Experience in negotiations
Travel:
Moderate travel may be required for Supplier visits, business collaboration, and training purposes.
