Primary Responsibilities
- Fully understand personal and equipment safety for the injection molding process. Position requires stringent adherence to safety protocols.
- Establishes processes using best practices
- Complete scientific molding studies. (Establishing 1st Stage or Injection Transfer Positions, Pack/Hold Pressure Window, Gate Freeze Study, etc.)
- Participates in tooling, resin, and colorant sampling
- Understands and Optimizes equipment settings for safety, quality and productivity.
- Setting criteria and tolerances for process monitoring
- Troubleshoot molds & equipment, clear alarms, process for defects
- Communicates and Creates Maintenance Work Orders on equipment and molds.
- Completes all required documentation based on procedures and work instructions.
- Encourage and support training of employees for development, cross training, and continuous improvement
- Works closely with BU Engineer, Maintenance and Tooling
- Monitor and take necessary steps to reduce unplanned downtime, scrap and cycle times through effective trouble shooting methods (8D, Design of Experiment, etc.)
- Coordinate with Lead and Set Up on change overs and breaks to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Monitor all SPC on equipment and machinery
