Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on criminal law matters
- Assist in the drafting and preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including conducting witness interviews, gathering evidence, and preparing exhibits
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and provide updates on case status
- Coordinate with court personnel, expert witnesses, and other professionals involved in the legal process
- Assist in the filing of legal documents with relevant courts and administrative bodies
- Certified Paralegal with a specialization or demonstrated experience in criminal law
- Thorough understanding of criminal law principles, rules, and procedures
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to extract relevant information from various sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in using legal software and technology, including case management systems and legal research tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing legal documents
- Previous experience working in a criminal defense law firm is preferred
