Role Description The Property CPA is a full-time, hybrid role based in Vero Beach, FL, with some flexibility for work-from-home arrangements. This role is responsible for day-to-day property accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, posting journal entries, and reconciling bank and escrow accounts. The Property CPA prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements for managed properties, tracks revenues and expenses, and ensures timely recording of rents, vendor payments, and other transactions. The role involves monitoring budgets, analyzing variances, and supporting annual audits and tax preparation in coordination with leadership and external professionals. The Property CPA also collaborates with property managers and ownership to provide financial insights, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and improve accounting processes and reporting standards.
Qualifications
- Strong property and real estate accounting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and property management systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
- Knowledge of GAAP and relevant tax and regulatory requirements applicable to real estate and property management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
