About the Role:

The Warehouse position in Hammond, LA is a critical role focused on ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the facility. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing stock, and preparing orders for shipment to meet customer demands. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to maintain a secure and productive work environment. The warehouse associate will collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and support operational goals. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the overall supply chain effectiveness and customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate handling of products.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Basic math skills and ability to read and understand shipping documents.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse machinery.
• Familiarity with inventory management software or warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with Profit 21 a plus
• Class A CDL a plus, but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Organize and store inventory in designated locations to maximize space and accessibility.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse to comply with safety and operational guidelines.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to management.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.

Skills:

The required skills such as basic math, physical stamina, and safety awareness are essential for daily tasks like verifying shipments, handling inventory, and operating equipment safely. Preferred skills like forklift operation and familiarity with warehouse management systems enhance efficiency and accuracy in managing stock and fulfilling orders. Organizational skills help maintain a clean and orderly workspace, which supports smooth operations and safety compliance. Communication skills facilitate effective teamwork and coordination, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to standard.
