STV is seeking a National Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Practice Leader to build, lead, and grow a cohesive, nationally recognized BRT practice across the United States. This role is responsible for national market leadership, client development, technical excellence, and practice economics related to BRT planning, design, and delivery. The National BRT Practice Leader will serve as STV’s primary authority and visible leader for BRT in the U.S., working across transit, roadway, planning, engineering, systems, and advisory disciplines to position STV as a trusted partner for high‑capacity bus solutions that improve mobility, reliability, sustainability, and rider experience. This is a practice‑building, market‑facing leadership role, requiring a balance of technical credibility, client trust, pursuit leadership, and internal team development. National Practice & Market Leadership Establish and lead STV’s national BRT practice strategy, aligned with U.S. transportation, transit, and mobility market priorities. Identify, prioritize, and pursue BRT opportunities nationwide, in coordination with regional, area, and market leadership. Appoint and coordinate regional BRT practice representatives to support local execution of national strategies. Collaborate with transit, highways, and planning leadership to drive integrated national capture strategies for BRT programs and corridors. Serve as STV’s national industry representative for BRT in professional associations, committees, conferences, and forums. Client Development & Pursuits Support and contribute to client management plans for key BRT clients across the U.S. Lead or support major BRT pursuits, including capture planning, teaming strategy, interview preparation, and executive client engagement. Provide strategic input on qualifications, proposals, resumes, and experience narratives for BRT pursuits. Assess and communicate competitive positioning and market intelligence to inform pursuit strategy. Technical & Delivery Oversight Provide national technical and strategic oversight across BRT programs and projects to ensure consistency, quality, and best practices. Support project teams with staffing strategies, workshare approaches, and mobilization of BRT resources. Serve as a senior advisor on end‑to‑end BRT delivery, including planning, design, systems integration, construction, and operations readiness. Promote innovation, risk management, and continuous improvement across BRT delivery. Practice Operations & Team Development Build and maintain a national roster of multidisciplinary BRT talent, identifying strengths, coverage gaps, and development needs. Support recruitment and succession planning to strengthen STV’s BRT capabilities. Provide arms‑length quality and performance oversight for BRT work across the firm. Track and manage financial performance, including net fee backlog, revenue, and profitability attributable to BRT. Lead training, knowledge‑sharing, and internal education programs related to BRT best practices and emerging trends. Facilitate periodic national strategic planning sessions to assess the U.S. BRT market and refine growth strategies. BRT Client Types (U.S.) Public transportation agencies and authorities State DOTs, counties, and municipalities engaged in BRT planning or delivery Federal, state, and local funding and regulatory agencies Private developers and public‑private partnerships BRT vehicle, systems, and technology providers Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline 10 years of Leadership experience delivering BRT programs and projects in the United States Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across planning, engineering, and delivery Strong client‑facing, communication, and leadership skills Proven ability to balance technical excellence with national market growth and business development Experience working with U.S. public‑sector transportation agencies Commitment to quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering, Planning, or related field Professional credentials such as PE, AICP, PMP, PTOE, or PTP Experience with federally funded transit programs Prior national or multi‑regional BRT leadership experience Job Location: United States (multiple locations).
