Responsibilities Include
- Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the TDOT and local County/City agencies.
- Developing design plans including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, typical sections, superelevation data and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets.
- Designing to adhere to ADA Standards.
- Coordinating design development and providing technical direction and mentorship to the design team.
- Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages.
- Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
- Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers.
- Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license encouraged.
- TDOT and municipal client experience is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of transportation design experience.
- Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/OpenRoads modeling design software.
- OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
