SUMMER LIBRARY EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT

POSITION DETAIL: The Summer School Library Program Educational Assistant supports the school library’s summer learning initiatives by helping students maintain and improve literacy skills. This role assists with reading programs, educational activities, and daily library operations while creating a positive and structured learning environment for students.
KEY RESONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the implementation of summer reading and learning programs
- Support students with reading practice, comprehension activities, and book selection
- Help lead small group or one-on-one educational activities
- Prepare instructional materials, crafts, and literacy resources
- Supervise students in the library and maintain a safe, respectful environment
- Organize books, shelve materials, and maintain library displays
- Track student participation
- Support basic technology use (computers, educational software, etc.)
- Encourage student engagement and a love of reading
HOURS: 3 Hours/Day
DAYS: Monday - Thursday (4 days/week) during the following weeks:
- June 8 - June 11
- June 15 - June 28
- June 22 - June 25
- July 6-July 9
- July 13- July 16
- July 20 - July 23
RATE OF PAY: $15.00/ hour or Current EA rate
