What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Packet Recovery Teacher position at Sturgis Public Schools?
SHS PACKET RECOVERY
PROGRAM DETAILS: This program would be for any students who are close to passing a class and need to work on just one or two standards. Teacher approval is required. Teachers would provide individualized packets for these students to complete in order to reassess on content they failed, and thus be able to recover the credit. The amount of time each student takes to do this would be independently determined.
POSITIONS: Up to 4 positions, each with a caseload of 15-20 students. Positions may be reduced if caseloads aren’t high enough. Positions will be prioritized by one teacher from each core department, one SPED teacher, and one teacher from a non-core.
LEAD TEACHER: Same as the position above, except they will be provided 20 extra hours to lead the program. IE: creating and sending letters to students, maintaining records for attendance, and recruiting additional students.
REQUIREMENTS: Certified High School Teacher
BEGINNING DATE: June 1 - June 11
RATE OF PAY: $109 per day
HOURS: 4 hours/Day (Monday – Thursday) 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
