Sturgis Materials, Kansas City's leading supplier and fabricator of natural stone and other related materials is seeking a motivated, organized individual interested in a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced environment. We are hiring for an entry level and/or experienced saw operator or finisher position in our stone fabrication department. This is a detail oriented position that requires general mechanical knowledge, the ability to read shop tickets, measure accurately, and safely operate heavy equipment including forklift and hoist along with other various stone cutting tools. On the job training is available for motivated candidates. Hours are from 7 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays as required from 8 am to noon. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery to cut and shape stone materials accurately.
- Fabricate and assemble stone components according to specifications and design plans.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards.
- Collaborate with team members to manage workflow and optimize production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Utilize forklifts and cranes as needed to transport and prepare materials.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge and fabrication skills
- Experience in manufacturing and construction environments
- Proficient in machining and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to operate forklifts

Pay: $22.50 - $26.00 per hour
