Production Associate

A Production Associate performs production and manufacturing of greenhouse components according to provided specifications and delivery schedules while ensuring adherence to Stuppy’s safety and quality standards.Essential FunctionsManufacture greenhouse parts by use of various equipment such as press machines, saws, drill stations, and plasma stations.Responsible for proper set-up and operation of machinery to meet engineering specifications and tolerances.Responsible for application of all pertinent quality and production standards as defined by production leadership.Read and interpret production prints and technical drawings to ensure proper setup of machinery.Responsible for the accuracy of information documented throughout the production run.Assist the shipping department in the physical loading and unloading of trucks when requested.Frequent use of a tape measure for product attribute calculations and accuracy (quality).Participates in continuous improvement initiatives as requested or desired by the employee.Clean-up of assigned workstations daily.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. or prior experience in a production environment required.Ability to read, write and do basic math to properly fill customer orders.Ability to read and understand production drawings.Ability to use a tape measure with absolute accuracy, holding tolerances of 1/16 or less.Strong self-accountability and capability to remain focused always ensuring efficient execution.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and management is essential.Ability to perform continuous physical effort and work (up to eight (8) hours) including frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs.Ability to work under pressure to meet production schedule deadlines and changing priorities.Ability to recognize process improvement opportunities.Desire to cross train and learn numerous processes.Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
