We are able to accomplish this by partnering with schools, outreach programs, and other college and career access organizations to provide efficient and effective college and career access programming and classroom-based test preparation.
POSITION: Site Support Assistant
The Site Support Assistant will work to ensure that partners (schools, community networks, college/career access programs, etc.) and Study Smart Tutors’ individual tutors receive support before/during/after tutoring sessions in conjunction with the expectations of the Study Smart Tutors’ Education Department.
The position is a part-time, hourly position that maintains and progresses the organization’s tutoring products, practices, and persons in the New York area. The Site Support Assistant will report to the Program Manager, New York.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the Site Support Assistant is to provide both on-site support and remote support to our tutors in planning for instructional programs, integrating technology and administrative tasks for assignments, and carrying out other directives from the team, customers, and partners.
1. Tutor and Program Support (85%)
On-Site and Virtual Tutor Support:
- Oversee preparations and progressions of our tutors and facilitators at a number of program locations.
- Visit program sites in the NY area to ensure that all parties are effective across academic success assignments.
- Support the Education Team in carrying out conversations with educators before/during assignments by joining support calls and holding weekly office hours in collaboration with our Program Manager.
- Review data through various platforms to ensure tutor/facilitators are appropriately executing data collection/input for their sessions.
- Provide real-time feedback and document educator evaluation through classroom observations, standardized forms, and instructional modeling.
- Actively communicate with tutors through various mediums like email, Salesforce Chatter, Zoom, Google Meets, etc.
On-Site Program Support
- Maintain a site visit schedule to foster program partner-tutor relations.
- Gather and navigate feedback from school administration, site coordinators, classroom teachers, and other program staff.
- Update internal team members on program observations while on-site.
2. Team Collaboration (15%)
Weekly Meetings & Strategization
- Join weekly project huddles involving multiple stakeholders contributing to programmatic efforts.
- Join weekly meetings with the Program Manager, NY.
- Join monthly meetings with the education team to dialogue around effective methods of support and when/how site performance can be improved.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in education or related field 2 years of teaching, tutoring, or after-school experience, preferably with Title 1 schools.
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks to address the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students in high-need urban schools.
- Ability to visit program sites throughout the greater NY area weekly - approximately 3 to 4 days per week.
- Experience with Upper Math, ELA, Test Prep, and Biology intervention frameworks and practices.
- Effective collaboration with team members. Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office and G-Suite Apps.
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- Background in educator coaching and program management.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including English language learners and neurodivergent learners. Understanding of Social Emotional Learning.
