What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teachers/Tutors for Standardized Testing and Academic Subjects Needed position at Study Lab Test Prep?
We are a small, boutique tutoring center located in Huntington, NY providing tutoring/teaching services to students in the junior high to high school range in standardized exams such as the SAT, ACT, TACHS, AP, and Regents, as well as homework assistance/school enrichment. We offer these services to the local community of students that strive to excel in their academic endeavors.
We are seeking captivating and effective Teachers/Tutors for standardized test preparation and school enrichment needs. The position is part-time (usually after-school hours) that entails one-on-one tutoring and/or possibly small groups for classroom (no more than a 1:3 ratio) instruction.
If you have some experience (1 year minimum) in tutoring then we want to speak with you! However, if you are willing to learn our teaching methods to become an experienced tutor then we want to speak with you as well!

Lessons are scheduled during time periods that meet the availability of both teachers and students. Therefore, the more availability of time the teacher provides will mean more students that they can add to their schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and educate students in one-on-one and/or classroom setting(s)
- Design and implement lesson plans at varying academic levels
- Establish academic goals and milestones with students
- Document and communicate progress reports via session logs that are submitted post-session
- Provide constructive feedback for students
- Maintain open communication with tutoring center administration for questions, progress or parent concerns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Required); Masters or higher degree (Preferred); Teaching license/certification (Preferred); Current public/private school teacher (Desired)
- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or other related fields
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Sufficient knowledge of core educational subjects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Subjects To Teach:
- SAT, ACT, TACHS, SHSAT, ELA, and STEM subjects
- AP Subject Tests (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, U.S History, etc.)
- Regents Exams (Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Languages Other than English)
- Essay Writing
- Any additional academic subjects that are relevant to the students
Schedule:

Salary:
- $20.00 to $40.00 per hour
- Rate will be determined on many factors including experience, teaching style, etc.
