Truth be Told, our British Gastropub, located inside The Study at the University of Chicago in the beautiful Hyde Park, is currently seeking a full-time Dishwasher with open availability including weekends and holidays. Our hours of operation are seven days a week, 7AM to 10PM.
The back-of-house team provides genuine hospitality by means of the highest quality culinary experience for our guests. The ideal candidate has an engaging, vibrant personality that thrives in a team environment.

- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
- Keep dish wash area clean and organized
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
- Bag and haul dish wash trash to dumpster at designed times
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or Chef
- Aid and assist chefs in daily preparation of items, goods and inventory
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: None required
- Ability to communicate with both employees and guests
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
- Works well in a team environment
- Flexibility to work any shift including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in English required. A second language is desirable
- Ability to grasp, lift and or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 60 lbs
