Maintenance Engineer
Our extended stay hotel is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Maintenance Engineer position. Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure the hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards while treating guests in a warm and welcoming manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs general repairs.
Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
Check functionality of safety systems.
Collaborate with associates and others during renovations and projects.
Have reliable knowledge, supported by accurate maps, of all utility routing and cut-offs including water, gas, sewer, electrical, telephone and TV cable.
Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
Ensure the Fitness Center equipment is in working order.
Verify that all exterior and interior lights are working properly.
Report & fix any safety hazards throughout the hotel.
Daily property and parking lot walks and note items in need of attention and pick up any visible trash.
Assists in administration of an on-going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms.
Performs elementary painting and repairing of walls, furniture, cabinets, and windows, doors locks, and keys.
Clean and/or replace HVAC filters.
Performs minor electrical and mechanical repairs.
Performs minor repairs on fans and air conditioners.
Performs routine plumbing repairs (leaking faucet, repairing a sink drain).
Check functionality of safety systems.
Ensure quality standards and health and safety regulations are followed.
Always maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
Must communicate respectfully and effectively with all hotel guests, employees and vendors.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
Keep storage areas tidy.
Assists in responding to all guest and staff needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Experience and Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience required.
Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, climb and walk, for extended periods of time.
Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
