Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and customer-focused Hair Stylistto join our vibrant salon team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for hair styling, a strong understanding of current trends, and excellent communication skills. This role involves providing exceptional hair services, including cutting, coloring, extensions, and specialized treatments, while ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for clients. Experience with salon software such as Vagaro and store management is a plus. The successful candidate will also demonstrate expertise in sanitation, retail sales, and upselling to enhance client satisfaction and salon success.
Duties
- Perform a variety of hair styling services including cuts, color treatments, blowouts, and special styles and hair extensions
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas following industry regulations
- Use salon software such as Vagaro for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking
- Assist with front desk duties including client check-in/out and answering inquiries
- Manage retail product sales through effective upselling techniques
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices to promote skill development within the team
- Stay updated on current trends in hair styling, color theory, and beauty treatments to offer innovative services
- Ensure excellent customer service by understanding client needs and providing personalized recommendations
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license with experience in hair styling and color application
- Proficiency in salon software such as Vagaro and store management systems
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices and industry safety standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate clients on products and services
- Experience in retail sales, upselling, and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities
- Ability to work well in a team environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure
- Skills in store management or front desk operations are advantageous
- Creative flair with an eye for current trends in hair fashion and beauty treatments
