Role Description This full-time, on-site Architectural Designer role is based in Los Angeles, CA. The Architectural Designer will support projects from concept through construction, including preparing design studies, assisting with schematic and design development packages, and producing detailed construction drawings. Daily responsibilities include 3D modeling, drafting, rendering, and creating presentation materials that communicate design narratives and project intent. The role involves coordinating with internal team members and external consultants, assisting with documentation for construction, and participating in site visits, surveys, and construction administration tasks as needed. The Architectural Designer will contribute to both architectural and interior-focused projects, helping to refine details, materials, and spatial layouts in line with Studio MUKA’s holistic design approach.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to contribute to concept development, schematic design, and design development.
- Proficiency in Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and details suitable for permitting and construction.
- Skill in Drawing and visual communication, including hand sketching and digital representation to convey design ideas clearly.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite); familiarity with rendering tools (e.g., V-Ray) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in architecture or interior architecture, preferably in residential, retail, or hospitality projects.
- Strong sense of materiality, detailing, and spatial composition, with an interest in narrative-driven and holistic design.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary studio environment and manage deadlines.
- Eligibility to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA; familiarity with local codes and permitting processes is a plus
