Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments tailored to individual client needs
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate therapy approaches and develop customized treatment plans
- Educate clients on the benefits of different massage modalities and provide guidance on self-care practices for ongoing wellness
- Maintain detailed records of client sessions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with health regulations
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment by adhering to hygiene standards and proper use of medical equipment
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their concerns, explain procedures, and address any questions or discomforts
- Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and relevant medical terminology through ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Massage Therapist with active certification to practice legally
- Proven experience in massage therapy, including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical massage techniques
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately assess patient needs and tailor treatments accordingly
- Familiarity with pain management strategies and occupational health practices for diverse client populations
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
- CPR certification is required for safety compliance
- Prior experience working in med spas or clinical settings is preferred but not mandatory; a passion for helping others succeed is essential
