- Los Alamitos, CA 90720
- Located on the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, CA, Sunburst Youth Academy is a tuition-free, military-style residential program. It helps at-risk teens (ages 16–18) recover high school credits, develop leadership and life skills, and get back on track for graduation.
Schedule:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-3:00PM
- 30 hours per week
- Start date: Mid-August
- End date: Mid-December with the potential to work into 2027
- Pay rate:
- $24-25 based on experience
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Being that this job is for a high-security military installation, a thorough background will be completed
- Minimum of 60 units of college credits with a minimum of 2-3 year of tutoring experience in Math
- Proficiency in high level math as tutoring is for high school students (Pre-Algebra - Pre-Calculus/Math Analysis)
- The tutor will work inside the classroom in a co-teaching model as a partner with a fully credentialed teacher.
- Teaching or tutoring certification preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly dependable
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Motivation and passion to help students achieve academic excellence
- Must have reliable transportation for in-person tutoring. If driving, proof of insurance for your vehicle is needed
- Must provide a negative tuberculosis test (valid within the last 2 years)
- Please provide a copy of any certification you hold such as a Teacher’s Credential/Certification or Tutor Certification
- National Tutoring Association certification available to StudentNest tutors
Salary : $24 - $25
