Site Coordinator 

Grades PK-SP Northborough/Southborough 

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):

The Site Coordinator is responsible for the daily management of ESY programming in the assigned school. The site coordinator is responsible for coordinating sub coverage, tracking student absence and follow up with families, monitoring and communicating transportation related challenges with the program director, supervising staff, and working collaboratively with staff to ensure that all students' needs are being met. 

QUALIFICATIONS:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in education, special education or a related field
  • Initial or Professional Licensure from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a school setting
  • Prior experience providing supervision and site coordination

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

The Site Coordinator is expected to:

  • Attend planning meetings with Student Support Services administrators prior to the ESY Program. . 
  • Follow up and/or collect responses to registration information sent to parents regarding their students participation recommended to the program. 
  • Schedule students and staff for instruction. 
  • Collect IEP goals and objectives for students recommended by IEP Teams to ensure that summer remediation is consistent with individualized recommendations. Gather appropriate curricular materials for instructors. 
  • Collaborate with nurses to ensure that any potential medical challenges are understood and addressed appropriately. Ensure that the summer nurse has appropriate medical information for each enrolled student and that safety procedures are in place as needed. 
  • Supervise/instruct in the program 4 days/week. 
  • Collect daily/weekly data on student performance. 
  • Communicate with parents regarding programmatic initiatives. Write a welcome letter to parents two weeks prior to the program start date with logistical information, contact information and information about staff. 
  • Address parental concerns as they arise. 
  • Oversee and facilitate the writing, sending, editing, and organization of ESY Progress Reports. 
  • Coordinate scheduling of lunch and recess for classrooms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment:  

The work environment is in a school setting and can expand to all aspects of the students’ school day. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear.  The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel.  The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.  Vision and hearing correctable to within normal ranges.

Program Dates/Times

  • Program dates are: Weeks of June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, Aug 4, & Aug 11
  • Positions (Mon-Thurs) 8:30am-3:00pm
  • Program dates, hours, and rate will be stipulated in contract.
