POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, works directly and collaboratively with the community and employees to effectively engage all stakeholders in an effort to increase community engagement opportunities for the District. Displays a “Persistence-Plus” attitude and possesses the ability to consistently and continuously pursue opportunities for high levels of engagement. This position reports to the Executive Director – Engagement.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with developing, implementing, and providing oversight of outreach and engagement strategies to solicit and strengthen stakeholder engagement. Works closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director and Coordinating Supervisor, local elected officials, businesses and other key community leaders to identify and develop programs and services that are responsive to and reflective of the needs and interests of all stakeholders. Works closely and collaboratively with schools and other departments to monitor program quality, and serve the needs of all stakeholders. Identifies support and resources needed to carry out all events and activities for all stakeholders. Serves as the primary administrative point of contact for Rosenwald School by answering incoming telephone calls, greeting visitors, responding to routine inquiries, and directing stakeholders, customers, and community members to the appropriate staff, programs, services, or resources.

 

Assists with developing and sustaining relationships with external stakeholders, including but not limited to city agencies, provider agencies, community-based organizations, advocacy networks, and the faith-based community to further communication and community engagement efforts.

 

Compiles various reports as needed; maintains databases and monthly reports, maintains work order management as applicable, etc. 

 

Prepares and manages correspondence, reports and documents; drafts memos/letters and email in response to routine questions; take, type and distribute minutes of meetings.

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

 

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or GED required.  Associate’s degree preferred.

 

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in an office setting performing administrative duties required.

 

Makes administrative decisions which affect internal operations of the department as well as the operations of the schools and the District.

 

Certifications/Licenses: None.

 

Light independent judgment is necessary.  Decisions made on an as-needed basis to establish operation of the office.

 

Requires regular contact with internal personnel within department.  Verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.

Manegerial Skills: None.

 

Applies, recommends and implements technology knowledge (spreadsheets, word processing, and database management) concepts to improve the effectiveness of the Department. 

 

Responsibility for the Welfare of Others: Constant (Daily) - to exercise the duty of care and protection of the health, safety, security, welfare, well-being, and best interests of the district's various stakeholders.

 

Normal office setting. 

 

Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 20 lbs. or less.

 

NOTE: This is a Grade 21, 225-day position with a salary range of $39,702 - $61,023. Final salary placement within this range is determined based on individual credentials, years of relevant experience, and the guidelines outlined in the CCPS Compensation Handbook found here.
