Position Summary
Individual Placement will support the Environmental Stewardship Program with daily activities related to recreation and natural resource management. The placement will primarily assist with the Fern Ridge botany program and other recreation and natural resource management activities throughout the Willamette Valley Project. The work will occur indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work will occur in the winter, in possible inclement weather.

November 3, 2025 – January 30, 2026
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include planting out native species, working on seed inventory, prepping the native plant nursery for winter shutdown, and organizing botany work areas in preparation for spring fieldwork. Ancillary duties may also include working with recreation, wildlife, archaeology, and other natural resources programs to conduct field and office tasks.
Marginal Duties
Duties may also include light maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have the ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English
Must have the ability to work outdoors and lift up to 40 pounds
Must have reliable vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in vegetation management, plant nursery, and habitat restoration skills.
Hours
40 per week
Living Accommodations
Selected candidates will determine their own housing with a monthly allowance of $950 (3 disbursements)
Compensation
- $375/week living allowance
- $40/week commuting allowance
- $950/month housing allowance
- $1,000 Reimbursable duty-travel, training, and supplies (receipts required)
- $650 Relocation Travel Reimbursement
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
