Position Summary
Jones Hole National Fish Hatchery provides management and production of trout for mitigation of Colorado River Storage Project waters of the Upper Colorado River System and to meet Tribal trust responsibilities on Native American land. Intern responsibilities include assisting with fish culture, maintenance and outreach. Fish culture includes feeding fish, cleaning raceways, stocking, disinfecting/incubating/ hatching eggs, etc. Maintenance includes everything from grounds care such as mowing lawns to painting to help with maintaining buildings, vehicles, tools and equipment. Outreach includes answering visitor questions, hosting school visits, providing tours and helping to develop visitor center services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning rearing units and feeding fish
- Removing and recording fry mortality
- Pressure washing rearing units
- Providing tours/ answering questions
- Grounds care
Marginal Duties
- Various maintenance tasks
- Stocking fish
- Collecting/ recording water quality parameters
Required Qualifications
- Positive attitude
- 18 years or older
- Personal vehicle
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

Compensation
- Living Allowance- $500/week
- Travel Allowance-$1100
- Comfortable free housing and utilities provided
