Routing Coordinator

About the Role

We are a well-established, family-run transportation company looking for a detail-driven, calm-under-pressure individual to support our routing and dispatch operations. This role will focus primarily on constructing and maintaining bus routes using industry-standard software but will also provide an opportunity to learn dispatching skills by assisting our current dispatch team.

Qualifications

• Strong computer and clerical skills
• Excellent organizational ability and accuracy
• Able to prioritize tasks quickly and responsibly
• Enjoys problem-solving and maintaining strong, clean records
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
• Experience in school transportation, routing, or operations is a plus, but we will train a strong candidate
• Ability to obtain a Class C CDL with P & S endorsements (All company employees required to hold CDL. Free training provided by company if needed)

Responsibilities

• Use Transfinder routing software to design and maintain efficient, compliant routes
• Communicate route changes and assignments to schools, drivers, dispatchers, and other partners
• Ensure all routes meet contractual requirements and minimize unnecessary ride time
• Maintain accurate route documentation and update records as changes occur
• Support dispatch with phone calls, emergencies, vehicle issues, and real-time problem solving
• Assist with coverage planning and operational communication during busy periods
• Train toward CDL certification and drive a school bus as needed for coverage

Compensation & Schedule

• $58,000–$61,000 annual salary depending on experience
