Primary Roles & Responsibilities
· Instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth while meeting the requirements of licensing and Step Up to Quality
· Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities according to curriculum
· Responsible for introducing young learners to foundational academic concepts, social behaviors, and group learning
· Accountable for shaping the formative years of children, often their first structured educational experience
· Foster creativity, promote academic growth, and nurture young learners
· Promote academic growth by teaching basic literacy and numeracy skills
· Manage classroom behavior and support emotional well-being
· Adapt daily routines to individual and group needs
· Develop activities that integrate learning concepts
· Nurture children's curiosity and creativity while ensuring their safety and well-being during school hours
· Communicate with parents about children's progress and development
· Foster positive trusting relationships with children, families, and team members
· Support a culture of cleanliness by working with the team to keep classrooms and shared spaces safe and tidy for children
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children and parents

· Adaptability to modify teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and developmental stages
· Creativity to utilize innovative teaching techniques to engage young minds
· Empathy and Compassion to understand and address the emotional needs of young learners
· Effective Classroom Management to establish a structured yet flexible learning environment
· Cultural Sensitivity and awareness of and respect for diverse backgrounds and family dynamics
· Early Head Start (EHS) requires a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, and training or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in the field of Early Childhood Education is preferred
Physical Requirements
· Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
· Must be able to get down and get up from the floor daily during floor activities
· Must be able to pick up and lay down an infant in a crib (infant and toddler teachers only)
· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
· Work within an environment where exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible
· Be able to understand and follow all safety protocols and use safety equipment
· Must meet minimum bona fide occupational qualifications and requirements and perform functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Compensation: Pay is competitive and based on a variety of factors, including years of experience, possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, level of education, and other relevant qualifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
