About StubHub Direct Issuance

StubHub is reimagining ticket distribution with our Direct Issuance (DI) strategy — giving rights holders the tools and infrastructure to sell directly to fans through the world’s largest ticketing marketplaces: StubHub and Viagogo. The Direct Issuance Partnerships team enables sports organizations to control how and where their tickets are distributed, priced, and marketed — reaching over 80 million monthly event buyers worldwide.

About The Role

We’re hiring a Director of Motorsports, Combat, Action Sports & Esports to lead StubHub’s Direct Issuance partnerships across some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic sports verticals. This role focuses on developing direct inventory partnerships with global motorsport series, combat sports promoters, action sports tours, and major esports leagues and event organizers.

You’ll own the full partnership lifecycle: identifying targets, building relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and bringing deals across the finish line. This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role requiring frequent travel to races, fight nights, tournaments, and esports competitions worldwide. You will report to the Head of Sports Partnerships and play a critical role in expanding StubHub’s reach into emerging and high-growth categories.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY or Santa Monica, CA

What You'll Do

  • Lead business development and partnership efforts across motorsports (F1, MotoGP, NASCAR, IndyCar), combat sports (MMA, boxing, wrestling), action sports (X Games, surf/skate/snow properties), and esports (leading leagues and event organizers).
  • Own the complete deal cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with teams, leagues, promoters, and rights holders.
  • Represent StubHub at races, tournaments, competitions, and industry conferences to drive visibility and influence.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across legal, marketing, operations, and product to activate partnerships effectively.
  • Monitor category trends, shifts in audience demand, and partner priorities to adapt strategy in real time.
  • Track and report on pipeline health, partnership performance, and commercial impact.

What You've Done

  • 10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or commercial strategy in sports or entertainment.
  • Proven track record negotiating and securing high-value commercial deals, ideally in motorsports, combat sports, action sports, or esports.
  • Strong knowledge of event structures, governance, and audience dynamics across these categories.
  • Existing relationships with promoters, leagues, and event organizers are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel globally to attend events and meet partners (up to 50%).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to execute quickly and independently.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.

$200,000—$250,000 USD
