The Strategic Pricing Analyst combines the operational precision of a pricing analyst with the strategic oversight of a pricing strategist. This role ensures that pricing policies, systems, and execution align with business objectives, market conditions, and compliance requirements.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Pricing Strategy Support
- Develop and maintain pricing strategies that align with business goals, market trends, and competitive positioning.
- Analyze market data, competitor pricing, and customer preferences to identify pricing opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to define and implement pricing for new and existing products.
- Monitor pricing performance and adjust strategies to reflect market changes or company objectives.
2. Operational Pricing Administration
- Execute pricing setup and management in systems such as ERP or cloud supply chain platforms, including price lists, cost lists, discount lists, and pricing rules.
- Manage dynamic pricing rules, fragments, and expression nodes to ensure accurate price execution.
- Maintain pricing profiles, segments, and strategies in line with organizational policies.
3. Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure pricing activities comply with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal pricing policies.
- Maintain up-to-date pricing statistics and team checklists.
- Investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies or queries from internal and external stakeholders.
4. Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of pricing procedures and process improvements.
- Participate in internal projects, testing, and system enhancements.
- Serve as a liaison between pricing strategy teams and operational execution teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Experience in pricing administration, contract management, or financial systems.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience with Epicor enterprise CRM software a plus.
- Experience with other pricing software and analytical tools.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
