Position Overview
The Sales Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and supporting the overall success of Sttupa Estate Napa Valley.
The primary focus of this position is to lead all direct sales efforts to increase occupancy, revenue, and high-value bookings while maintaining alignment with the estate’s luxury brand identity.
Due to the boutique nature of the property, this role also requires active operational support in guest services and food & beverage operations as needed to ensure seamless guest experiences.
This is an on-property role. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute an annual strategic sales and revenue plan aligned with marketing and ownership objectives
- Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning processes
- Establish clear sales goals, performance metrics, and expense budgets
- Contribute to overall hotel business strategy and revenue optimization initiatives
Sales Execution & Market Development
- Lead all direct sales activities to grow occupancy and revenue
- Develop and present a compelling luxury sales narrative aligned with brand identity (in collaboration with established branding guidelines)
- Manage and grow repeat guest and VIP client databases within the PMS system
- Increase whole-house buyouts and private estate bookings
- Develop and expand small group, weddings, and special event segments
- Grow business through luxury travel advisors, consortia, and high-end travel markets
- Build relationships with key Napa Valley demand generators including Visit Napa Valley, Napa Valley Vintners, and tour operators
- Establish partnerships with regional wineries and wine clubs to drive occupancy
- Develop relationships with local influencers, business leaders, and wine industry professionals
- Conduct property tours and site visits for prospective clients and partners
- Represent Sttupa Estate at industry and community events
Guest & Operational Support
- Support guest services operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Assist food and beverage operations as needed during high-demand periods
- Collaborate closely with on-site teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Engage directly with guests to strengthen relationships and drive referrals
Public Relations & Brand Representation
- Support and help manage the annual Public Relations strategy
- Act as on-property liaison for PR agency coordination and daily activities
- Assist in PR planning, goal setting, and execution tracking
- Manage PR-related budget oversight in collaboration with leadership
- Serve as primary on-property contact for media and PR needs
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in luxury hospitality sales, hotel sales, or destination resort environments
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and high-value bookings
- Strong understanding of luxury travel market segments and high-net-worth clientele
- Experience with CRM or PMS systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on boutique hospitality environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as required
