Description: The Staff Civil Site Engineer will work on project teams to create world class site designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including pipelines, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, municipal, commercial, and government facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform/assist in civil design and calculations for projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review drawings for a variety of projects.
- Design civil components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers, while incorporating client, local, state, and federal regulations including, but not limited to:
- Site Demolition
- Erosion and Sediment Control
- Grading
- Drainage
- Stormwater Quality/Quantity
- Site Layout
- Sanitary Sewer Layout and Design
- Domestic and Firewater Layout and Design
- Utility Profiles
- Apply strong knowledge of commonly used site civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the site civil engineering services industry.
- Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications.
- Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements and/or calculations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mentor younger staff.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred – OR – Master’s degree in civil engineering and 2 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
- Strong knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, Math CADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred.
