Position Summary

The Engineering Manager leads the engineering function and is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all engineering deliverables.

The Engineering Manager works cross-functionally with Operations, Project Management, Quality, and Sales to drive strong execution in a custom engineered-to-order manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers and design professionals
• Establish clear priorities, workloads, and performance expectations
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional development
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence
  
  

Technical Oversight & Quality

• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and customer specifications
• Oversee engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with production capabilities
• Maintain high standards for accuracy and completeness of engineering output
  
  

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering standards, procedures, and workflows
• Improve engineering efficiency, documentation control, and change management processes
• Support configuration management and data control within PDM/PLM systems
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, and Procurement to ensure seamless handoff into fabrication and assembly
• Partner with Sales and Operations to support technical proposals and customer engagement
• Support project management teams to ensure engineering deliverables meet schedule commitments
  
  

Requirements

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline required
• CAD certification (e.g., SolidWorks Professional) or equivalent experience highly desirable
• 10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or engineered systems environments
• 5 years of experience leading an engineering or design team
• Proven track record delivering engineer-to-order (ETO) or design-build projects
• Experience working in regulated or code-driven environments preferred
• High proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), 2D drafting tools, and PDM/PLM systems
• Working knowledge of pressure systems and applicable industry codes and standards
• Experience with mechanical systems, process equipment, vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, or pressure vessels preferred
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and collaborate with internal or third-party code specialists
