Position Summary
As a Trailer Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic inspections, and repairs on a variety of trailers to ensure fleet safety and operational efficiency. You will also support minor terminal tractor repairs and complete documentation within the company’s maintenance software system.

As a Trailer Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic inspections, and repairs on a variety of trailers to ensure fleet safety and operational efficiency. You will also support minor terminal tractor repairs and complete documentation within the company’s maintenance software system.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs on trailers, reporting damage and corrective actions
- Maintain and service trailer systems including air brakes, suspension, electrical, couplers, landing gear, and more
- Perform welding repairs in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
- Assist with minor repairs on terminal tractors as needed
- Execute test drives to verify functionality after repairs
- Complete work orders using fleet maintenance software, tracking parts and labor accurately
- Support team members with additional repair tasks when needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Experience performing trailer diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Familiarity with safety procedures and compliance requirements in a maintenance facility
- Ability to weld and perform mechanical repairs independently
- Must be able to lift, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions
- Valid Driver’s License required
- TWIC card required
- Forklift operator certification preferred
