STS Technical Services is hiring an Inventory Control Supervisor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role supports a growing manufacturing and fabrication company by creating and maintaining standardized inventory control processes across the production floor. The ideal candidate will collaborate with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure efficient material flow and accurate inventory management.
Responsibilities:Process Development and Oversight
- Implement standardized inventory control processes on the production floor
- Support production supervisors in their adoption of control processes and reinforce expectations
- Establish repeatable processes for receiving, stocking, kitting, and returning parts
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure they align with production needs
- Lead periodic inventory audits and 5S initiatives
- Train and supervise Inventory Control Specialists and/or Material Handlers
Bin Stock Management
- Use Lean Manufacturing tools to establish efficient material staging for production
- Create and maintain bin stock locations
- Implement labeling standards for parts and bins
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records
- Develop standardized delivery systems and packaging methods with assistance from the industrial engineering team
Material Flow
- Monitor the status of manufactured components and expedite through production supervisors
- Analyze usage patterns and adjust strategies as needed
- Report material transactions to the ERP system and/or ERP team
- Formal training in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Production Demand Planning, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in inventory control or materials management within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems and digital inventory management tools
- Strong knowledge of inventory control practices (FIFO, Kanban, JIT, Make to Inventory, Make to Job)
