Job Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as an Electrician
- Must have an Electrician License (journeyman or equivalent)
- Must have the ability to use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters and other testing devices to diagnose issues and verify system integrity.
- Must be able to collaborate with other trades and provide excellent customer service.
- Must be able to do lifting and movement of furniture for some occupied office work spaces.
- Be able to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma
Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
Job Requirements:
- Installs, connects, tests, and sustains electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications.
- Figures layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
- Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
- Moves furniture and ceiling panels/fixtures and repairs drywall as required.
- Assist other facilities maintenance team members in projects as required.
- Follows all safety protocol and protection measures; assists with or advises safety inspections as required.
