What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Mechanic position at STS Aviation Group?
STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Mechanics in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and performing a wide variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of airframe and engine systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs of a complex nature on various aircraft systems and components
- Troubleshoot and function test using manufacturer’s technical documents across a variety of airframe, engine, and component systems
- Lead aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor
- Prepare and complete maintenance and modification documents in accordance with FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, and OJT logs
- Locate and use the appropriate technical data to accomplish all assigned tasks efficiently and correctly
- Support, maintain, and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State, and local regulations as well as Elliott Aviation’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to attain and retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Must obtain and retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue stamp)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145
- Aircraft maintenance experience preferred
Licenses
- Airframe & Powerplant License required
