Senior Electrical Design Engineer, R&D

Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite Stryker Surgical Technologies is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our R&D team. Check out our portfolio: Surgical Technologies What You Will Do: Design and develop schematics and PCB layouts for electronic circuit boards in medical devices, ensuring alignment with system requirements. Develop, review, and execute electrical system tests using advanced equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers) to validate performance and reliability. Identify and evaluate solutions to complex product design challenges, balancing tradeoffs at the component and sub-system levels. Development, creation, and refinement of technical documentation, including schematics, design descriptions, stack-up calculations, and manufacturing test specifications. Interface with manufacturers to define and implement manufacturing test specifications for scalable production. Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to drive project success. Build relationships and influence across engineering teams, fostering collaboration and technical excellence. Deliver high-quality results with passion, energy, and a strong commitment to meeting business priorities such as process improvements, technology advancements, and product development from concept to launch. What You Need Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline 2 years of work experience Preferred Qualifications: Advanced understanding of electrical components and manufacturing methods, including common failure modes. Experience in interpreting and analyzing system drawings with basic Mechanical/Software/Electrical Interactions. Ability to interpret, analyze, and test electrical designs. Working knowledge of the electrical design process. Proficiency in the use of CAD and/or other circuit design and analysis tools to design. Knowledge of standard technologies used in industry. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
