Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Residential Construction Foreman to oversee the daily field operations of residential construction and remodeling projects.

The Foreman will work directly under the Project Manager and will be responsible for keeping jobsites organized, productive, safe, and moving according to schedule. This position serves as the Project Manager’s primary point of contact in the field and helps coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, jobsite needs, and day-to-day construction activities.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, communicates well, understands residential construction from start to finish, and can identify jobsite issues before they cause delays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily jobsite operations and construction activities for multiple projects.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to execute the project schedule and scope of work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades to ensure work is completed in the proper sequence.
• Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding job progress, upcoming needs, delays, issues, and changes.
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, selections, and scopes of work before and during construction.
• Verify subcontractor work is being completed correctly and according to plans and company standards.
• Identify workmanship issues and coordinate corrections before work progresses.
• Confirm jobsites are ready for scheduled subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries.
• Coordinate and receive material deliveries and verify quantities when necessary.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsites.
• Perform daily jobsite inspections and document progress with photos and updates.
• Assist with layout, measurements, field verification, and construction details as needed.
• Maintain awareness of project materials and notify the Project Manager of shortages or upcoming material needs.
• Help prevent delays by looking ahead at upcoming phases of construction.
• Coordinate access to occupied homes and maintain a professional environment around homeowners.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and company staff.
• Maintain company tools and equipment assigned to the project.
• Perform minor construction, punch-list, protection, cleanup, or temporary work when necessary to keep the project moving.
• Assist with final punch lists and ensure items are completed before project closeout.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential construction, remodeling, or a related field required.
• Foreman, superintendent, lead carpenter, or similar field leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing and building practices.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Working knowledge of framing, foundations, roofing, siding, drywall, trim, cabinets, flooring, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other residential trades.
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, texts, emails, schedules, and project documentation as well as experience in Houzz Pro or similar program.
• Ability to work independently while taking direction from the Project Manager.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional appearance on client properties.

Physical Requirements

This is an active field position. The Foreman must be able to:

• Regularly walk active construction sites.
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Bend, kneel, stand, and move throughout the workday.
• Safely lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment as needed.

What Success Looks Like in This Position

A successful Foreman keeps the Project Manager informed without requiring the Project Manager to manage every detail occurring on the jobsite.

The Foreman should know what is happening today, what is scheduled next, what materials are needed, what problems need to be addressed, and whether the project is ready for the next trade.

The goal is to keep each project moving efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship, jobsite cleanliness, safety, and professional communication.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their jobsites and understands that good construction management requires more than simply showing up and watching subcontractors work.

The right person will be proactive, dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable making field decisions within their authority, and willing to communicate immediately when something requires the Project Manager's attention.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
