Bricklayer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bricklayer to join our construction and maintenance team. The Bricklayer will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other materials to build and repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures. This role requires strong craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail to ensure the quality, durability, and appearance of all masonry work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units according to specifications and blueprints.

• Mix mortar, grout, and cement to the appropriate consistency for each project.

• Build and repair walls, partitions, chimneys, arches, and other structural or decorative features.

• Align and level structures using plumb bobs, levels, and trowels to ensure accuracy.

• Cut and shape materials to fit specific dimensions using hand and power tools.

• Repair or replace damaged brickwork and mortar joints.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure job sites are clean and safe.

• Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures.

• Work collaboratively with other trades on construction, restoration, and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related construction work.

• Strong understanding of masonry materials, tools, and techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with stonework, blockwork, and concrete finishing.

• Knowledge of restoration and tuckpointing techniques.

• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction site best practices.

• Ability to work efficiently in both team and independent settings.
