What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Branch Manager position at Structall Building Systems, Inc?
Lead a Business. Build a Team. Own the Results.
Structall Building Systems is a leading manufacturer and distributor of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and aluminum building products serving residential, commercial, and industrial markets throughout the Southeast. Our corporate headquarters is located in Oldsmar, Florida, with additional manufacturing and distribution facilities in Lakeland, Florida; St. Gabriel, Louisiana; San Antonio, Texas; and Lenoir, North Carolina.
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Louisiana Distribution Manager to lead our Louisiana Branch operation.
This is not a desk job.
This position requires an operational leader who enjoys being on the production floor, in the warehouse, with customers, and alongside employees every day. You will be expected to actively lead the business, solve problems, coach employees, improve processes, and ensure the branch operates safely, efficiently, and profitably.
You will have full responsibility for the performance of the Louisiana Branch and will be expected to operate the business with an ownership mentality.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As the Louisiana Distribution Manager, you will have overall responsibility for every aspect of the Louisiana Branch, including:
- Manufacturing and production operations
- Warehouse operations
- Distribution and logistics
- Customer service
- Inventory management
- Sales support
- Financial performance
- Safety and regulatory compliance
- Team development
- Continuous improvement
You will directly lead:
- Two (2) Department Managers
- Two (2) CDL Class A Drivers
- Six (6) to Ten (10) Warehouse and Production Team Members
This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational execution while developing a high-performing team that delivers exceptional service to our customers.
Profit & Loss Ownership
This position carries full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the Louisiana Branch.
You will be responsible for:
- Revenue growth
- Gross margin performance
- Expense management
- Labor productivity
- Inventory accuracy
- Asset utilization
- Budget management
- Operational efficiency
Success will be measured by the overall performance of the branch—not simply completing daily tasks.
Our Leadership Expectations
We are looking for a leader who treats the branch as if it were their own business.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Create a culture of ownership throughout the organization.
- Develop future leaders by coaching, mentoring, and holding employees accountable.
- Build a workplace centered on safety, quality, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Make timely, informed decisions while maintaining high operational standards.
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Ensure Structall policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed.
Management By Walking Around (MBWA)
At Structall, we believe great leaders are visible leaders.
The Louisiana Distribution Manager is expected to practice Management by Walking Around (MBWA) as a daily leadership philosophy by:
- Maintaining a constant presence throughout the office, warehouse, and production floor.
- Engaging employees at every level.
- Observing work firsthand rather than managing exclusively from an office.
- Identifying safety, quality, and productivity opportunities before they become problems.
- Providing immediate coaching, recognition, and support.
- Reinforcing Structall's standards through daily interaction and leadership by example.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct all day-to-day branch operations.
- Lead manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and customer service activities.
- Practice Management by Walking Around (MBWA) by remaining highly visible throughout the facility and actively engaged with employees and operations each day.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with OSHA requirements and Structall safety standards.
- Drive operational excellence through process improvement and employee development.
- Manage branch financial performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and material flow.
- Coordinate production schedules and distribution activities.
- Recruit, hire, coach, develop, and evaluate employees.
- Manage employee performance, scheduling, payroll approvals, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure facilities, vehicles, equipment, and assets are properly maintained.
- Build long-term relationships with customers and deliver outstanding service.
- Lead by example and establish a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Thinks like an owner.
- Takes pride in building great teams.
- Enjoys solving operational challenges.
- Is comfortable making decisions.
- Holds themselves and others accountable.
- Leads from the front—not behind a desk.
- Understands manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution operations.
- Is equally comfortable reviewing financial reports, meeting with customers, or helping solve operational issues on the production floor.
- Wants to build a long-term career with a growing organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of leadership experience in manufacturing, building materials, industrial operations, or distribution.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple departments.
- Experience with full Profit & Loss responsibility.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with inventory control and warehouse management.
- Production scheduling experience preferred.
- ERP or business system experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
