Position Summary
The Associate Wealth Advisor is a key pillar of StrongBox Wealth’s concierge client service model, delivering customized portfolio management alongside comprehensive financial planning. This role primarily focuses on servicing existing client relationships, supporting lead Wealth Advisors, leveraging Wealth Advisors’ business development workflows, conducting research, drafting and maintaining financial plans, identifying planning opportunities, performing and documenting annual reviews, adhering to both firm and regulatory compliance standards, developing and maintaining accurate client records, and contributing to the overall client experience, operational excellence, and growth of the firm.
While the Associate Wealth Advisor may source new assets through existing or new client relationships, the role does not require dedicated business development prospecting. Growth opportunities are primarily relationship driven and centered on existing clientele.

Core Responsibilities
Client Service and Relationship Support
- Serve as primary relationship manager for assigned client households.
- Pre-meeting preparation and post-meeting debriefs to Wealth Advisor(s), as applicable.
- Organize and conduct client meetings as part of ongoing relationship management.
- Draft, maintain, and present financial plans and portfolio reviews.
- Identify planning opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
- Deliver proactive communication and follow up consistent with the firm’s service and compliance standards.
- Coordinate with client experience, service, and operations teams to ensure timely execution of client requests.
- Maintain accurate and current CRM documentation as core daily activity.
Financial Planning and Portfolio Support
- Utilize firm planning and portfolio tools, including financial planning software, performance reporting, CRM, and research platforms.
- Assist with portfolio implementation, monitoring, and trading.
- Contribute to tax-aware and comprehensive financial planning initiatives.
- Maintain compliance standards and documentation in accordance with firm policies.
Asset Growth Contribution
- Identify opportunities for additional deposits from existing client relationships.
- Support onboarding new client relationships in coordination with Wealth Advisors.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on relationship transition and growth initiatives.
Professional Credentials and Requirements
- Active and maintain CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, or similar (CFA, CIMA, CPA).
- Active and maintain Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination) licensure.
- Complete all required ongoing continuing education to remain in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year financial services experience (RIA, broker/dealer, bank trust dept).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work across diverse personalities.
- Adept at problem-solving with initiative to proactively identify and resolve issues
Compensation Structure
- $65,000 - $80,000 base salary, commensurate with experience.
- Bonus Compensation - 10% of projected first-year advisory fee revenue for newly sourced assets (per qualifying deposit >$50k), paid quarterly on the second payroll cycle in April, July, October, and January, as defined in the Employment Agreement
Work Location and Schedule
- Full time, in person, exempt position (not hybrid or remote).
- Flexible hours between 8a – 5p, Monday - Friday.
- Primary office in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with a secondary office in Overland Park, Kansas.
- Full benefits package, including 401(k) match and profit sharing plan.
- Reports to Managing Partner.
