Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team in Batavia NY. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures, used in various manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly & efficiently. Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom tools, dies & fixtures utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Operate CNC programming software like CAM to generate tool paths for manufacturing processes.
- Fabricate tools using various manufacturing techniques.
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of existing tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with production personnel to modify or improve tooling designs based on production feedback.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar manufacturing role with a focus on precision tooling fabrication.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precise measurements and quality control.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, assembly, welding, and fabrication methods.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and micrometers.
