Pipelayer

Strods Contracting is seeking qualified, energetic and ambitious Excavation laborers with experience in pipelaying to join our team. Strods Contracting is a fast paced growing company specializing in excavation and heavy civil construction. We are looking for applicants who are energetic and ambitious to learn, and grow with the company.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the excavation, road building, site excavation, underground utilities construction and demolition by performing tasks such as digging, lifting, and carrying materials.
• Operate basic construction tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Limited operation of heavy equipment and company trucks.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, adhering to safety standards to prevent accidents.
• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications

• Pipe laying experience
• Experience in setting of manholes and precast structures
• Previous experience in construction or labor-intensive roles
• Ability to operate basic construction tools and equipment
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations on job sites
• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
• Teamwork skills and effective communication abilities
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments

Expectations

• Ability to arrive ontime and have reliable transportation to the project site
• Ability to shoot grade and read project plan sheets
• Ability to perform manual labor
• Knowledge in pipe laying, bolting up fittings, and setting of precast structures
• Willingness to work with others and collaborate with team members
• Willingness to perform duties lined up by the site foreman and project superintendent
• Perform work in a safe manor adhereing to project expectations regarding quality and production standard
• Ability to work 10-12 hour days

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years civil excavation laborering experience
• Minimum 2 years experience laying underground water and sewer pipe
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
