What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Website UX Audit and Visual Design Recommendations position at Striving For All?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We are seeking support to conduct a visual and user experience (UX) audit of our recently updated website and provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve usability and overall design. The volunteer will: -Review our current website’s look and feel, navigation, and user flow -Identify opportunities to improve clarity, accessibility, and ease of navigation -Provide recommendations on visual consistency, including color usage, typography, and layout -Suggest improvements to enhance user engagement and content hierarchy -Deliver a prioritized list of actionable recommendations for our team to implement -(Optional) Provide 1–2 sample mockups or annotated examples to illustrate key improvements Our website is built on WordPress, and a recent version (2.0) was launched a few months ago. We are looking for a professional review to refine and strengthen the user experience rather than a full redesign. The final deliverable will be a concise audit report (5–10 pages or equivalent) with clear, practical recommendations.
Our website is a critical touchpoint for donors, partners, and community members to understand and engage with our work. Improving the website’s usability and visual clarity will help us: -Better communicate our programs and impact to donors and partners -Make it easier for visitors to navigate, understand, and engage with our work -Strengthen credibility through a more professional and cohesive online presence -Increase engagement and support, helping sustain and grow our programs The volunteer’s contributions will directly improve how we present our work, ensuring that those who visit our site can clearly see the value and impact of what we do.
We are prepared to support the volunteer with the information and collaboration needed to make this project effective. -We will provide full access to the website, existing content, and brand assets -We will share context on our goals, audiences, and recent website updates -A dedicated team member will work closely with the volunteer throughout the project -We will hold weekly check-ins to review feedback and ensure alignment -Our team is ready to implement recommended changes following the audit We value clear, actionable insights and will use the volunteer’s recommendations to improve the usability and effectiveness of our website.
