Server/Dietary Aide

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Server/Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional meal service and nutritional support within a healthcare or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, serve residents or patients, and ensure a clean and safe dining area. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of residents while gaining valuable experience in food service and dietary operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents or patients in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking, plating, and portioning according to dietary guidelines.
• Support dietary department tasks such as meal setup, bussing tables, and cleaning dining areas to maintain sanitation standards.
• Follow food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe dining environment.
• Help with food handling, storage, and inventory management as directed by supervisors.
• Assist with meal delivery and setup in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation procedures.
• Support dietary staff with general duties related to food production and service as needed.

Skills

• Experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents or patients.
• Basic culinary skills including food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly.
• Ability to handle food safely and responsibly in accordance with health regulations.
• Excellent time management skills to efficiently serve meals within scheduled times.
• Experience in dietary departments or food handling roles is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility and adaptability to perform various tasks such as bussing, cleaning, or assisting in food production as needed.
