Job Summary
The Warehouse Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control within a pharmaceutical packaging environment. This role ensures proper handling, storage, and tracking of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods in compliance with FDA, cGMP, and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records of pharmaceutical packaging materials, components, and finished products using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits in compliance with cGMP procedures
- Track lot numbers, expiration dates, and material status (e.g., quarantine, released, rejected)
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ensure proper storage of materials in accordance with environmental and regulatory requirements (e.g., temperature, humidity control)
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA), and Production teams to ensure material availability and compliance
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
- Follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and company safety guidelines
- Support packaging operations by staging materials and assisting with order fulfillment when necessary
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in supply chain, logistics, or science-related field preferred)
- 1–3 years of inventory control or warehouse experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industries
- Knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and standard warehouse practices
- Strong attention to detail, especially with batch records and documentation accuracy
- Experience with inventory systems, ERP software, or WMS.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data entry
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to follow strict procedures and handle sensitive materials
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and move materials safely
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in controlled environments (cleanroom or temperature-controlled areas) while wearing appropriate PPE
Work Environment
- Regulated pharmaceutical warehouse or packaging facility
- Cleanroom or controlled environment conditions may be required
- Must follow strict hygiene, safety, and gowning procedures
- May involve shift work, weekends, or overtime to support production schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device packaging environment
- Familiarity with lot traceability, batch records, and audit processes
- Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience
- OSHA safety training or GMP certification
