At Stringham Lumber, everyone is sales-oriented — whether you’re on the phone, the sales floor, or supporting behind the scenes. As a Sales & Customer Service Associate, your focus will be on providing excellent customer service and creating a positive experience with every interaction. You’ll assist customers and reconnect with past clients through our List Project.
Key Responsibilities- Adapt to changing tasks and priorities. The ability to wear multiple hats is a must
- Maintain product knowledge and a positive, customer-focused attitude
- Support other team members and departments with backup responsibilities as needed
- Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and helpful manner
- Make outgoing sales calls to new and existing customers as part of the List Project
- Assist walk-in customers with product questions and selections on the sales floor
- Write up accurate and detailed sales orders (in exception of drivers)
- Provide and follow up on quotes for lumber, doors, decking, and other materials
- Organized, dependable, and team-oriented — committed to building a culture where everyone helps everyone
- Previous experience in customer service or inside sales preferred
- Strong communication and phone skills
- Comfortable with computers and order entry systems
- Ability to learn product lines quickly, provide knowledgeable assistance, and be willing to teach others
- Flexible team player who wears multiple hats and adapts to changing priorities
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required; use of translation tools such as Google Translate is encouraged to assist as needed
