The Strikers of Gaston County Soccer Association (SGCSA) is the only North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) credentialed soccer club in Gaston County, NC. We proudly offer Academy (offered through Carolina Champions League), Challenge (offered through NCYSA), and Classic (offered through NCYSA) levels of soccer. Our methodology is guided by principles that prioritize qualified and passionate coaching, SGCSA is committed to fostering growth in players both on and off the field. Our club emphasizes teamwork, cooperation, and character development, creating an environment where young athletes can build lifelong skills and friendships through their shared love of soccer.
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Soccer Coach position based in Gastonia,NC. Our coaches will plan and deliver engaging training sessions twice a week and work to improve players' technical, tactical, and physical skills. SGCSA is seeking a passionate, eager, and knowledgeable, coaching candidate to go above and beyond for the athletes in our club.
Responsibilities include:

- Fostering sportsmanship
- Developing game strategies and objective driven practice sessions
- Communicate effectively with players and parents
- Work with managers and other league coaches to schedule games and touraments
- Supervising matches to ensure player growth both athletically and personally.
The coach will work to maintain professional relationships with players, parents, and association members to uphold the club's mission and values.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Soccer Coaching with a demonstrated ability to develop and motivate players of varying skill levels
- Strong verbal and written Communication skills to interact effectively with players, parents, and staff via text, email, and team messaging software
- Experience in Coaching youth and/or adult players, with an understanding of different coaching methodologies
- Grassroots coaching license or higher and a willingness to obtain higher licensure
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain Safesport certification
- High level of professionalism, leadership, and commitment to player development
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
- Must have reliable transportation
Compensation
Depending on the age group, seasons may be Fall/Spring or one season for High School aged groups.
Compensation for a parent coach: $1,500 per season
Compensation for a nonparent coach: $2,000 per season.
$500 licensure incentive for coaches that obtain their US Soccer D License
