POSITION SUMMARY: The School Psychologist supports the developmental, behavioral, and educational needs of preschool-aged children (ages 3–5). This position conducts evaluations, supports eligibility determinations, contributes to IEP development, and collaborates with families and staff to promote positive developmental, behavioral, and learning outcomes. Travel may be required to effectively support the assigned caseload.

Assessment & Eligibility Determination
- Conduct multidisciplinary evaluations for children ages 3–5, including cognitive, social‑emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and developmental assessments.
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessment tools in accordance with professional standards, NASP ethical guidelines, and Wyoming Part B requirements.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive written evaluation reports that support eligibility decisions and meet all state, federal, and program compliance standards.
- Participate in Child Find activities, screenings, and referral processes for preschool‑aged children.
- Serve as a key member of the eligibility team, providing data‑based recommendations aligned with IDEA criteria and Wyoming Chapter 7 rules.
- Utilize culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate assessment practices to ensure equitable evaluation outcomes.
IEP Development & Compliance
- Collaborate with ECSE teachers, related service providers, and families to develop high‑quality, compliant IEPs.
- Provide assessment data, present levels, and recommendations for goals, accommodations, and services.
- Ensure adherence to all IDEA Part B timelines, procedural safeguards, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in the program’s data management system and ensure documentation meets state and federal standards.
Behavioral, Social‑Emotional & Mental Health Support
- Provide consultation and training to teachers, therapists, administrators, and families regarding behavioral, developmental, and learning needs.
- Support classroom teams in implementing evidence‑based interventions, positive behavior supports, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide short‑term, developmentally appropriate behavioral or social‑emotional interventions for preschool‑aged children.
- Support crisis response, safety planning, and staff training related to behavior and mental health needs.
Collaboration & Team Participation
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, transition conferences, and family consultations.
- Work collaboratively with school district personnel to support seamless transitions for kindergarten‑age students, including sharing data, participating in transition meetings, and assisting families.
- Participate as a member of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) team, including administration and interpretation of ASD‑related assessments and contribution to multidisciplinary eligibility decisions.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain current knowledge of early childhood practices, assessment tools, and IDEA regulations.
- Adhere to NASP ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and program policies.
- Attend staff team meetings as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Psychology.
- Current state license (or eligibility for licensure) as a psychologist through the Wyoming Board of Psychology.
- One year of experience working with infants/toddlers and/or preschool children with developmental disabilities or clinical experience with preschool children is preferred.
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Must successfully complete abuse/neglect Central Registry check, sex offender and criminal background screening, and fingerprinting.
- TB risk assessment to be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and liability insurance required if position involves travel.

- Work is primarily performed indoors. Services are primarily delivered in preschool classrooms, childcare, and community settings.
- Duties may require various physical positions including stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, holding, reaching, sitting, and moving between locations.
- Must be able to lift children or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Position requires managing moderate to high levels of mental and emotional demands.
