The National Special Programs Manager oversees the special programs for a portfolio of schools and is responsible for the development and implementation of all policies and procedures related to Special Education with support to Federal Title Programs, English Language Learners and 504. The position is a subject matter expert on academic policies, procedures, and operations specific to Special Programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Subject matter expert on all special education procedures, including compliant enrollment of students with disabilities
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with appropriate school staff as well as statewide organizations
  • Develop and disseminate "best practices" for special education in the virtual school setting as well as changes in local, state or federal practices and laws
  • Helps train teachers in special education procedures, focusing on identification, compliancy documentation, and timelines;
  • Provide oversight and guidance to contractors and related service providers
  • Ensure the compliancy of all special education documents including eligibility reports and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) within the schools supported as evidenced by an annual audit and/or school level self assessments
  • Oversee all school, local, state, and federal compliance reporting
  • Ensure fiscal compliancy for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B funds and Title funds
  • Collects data for internal studies of special programs including the academic growth of the populations supported
  • Engage with the Executive Director or School Special Programs Leader and the school's attorney on legal and compliance issues

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of special educational leadership experience and Master's degree in special education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Special Education administrative experience
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and reporting
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel; student database software; Internet research
  • Experience as an online educator
  • Travel up to 25% he time to support schools in their implementation of special programs
  • Ability to clear required background check

Certificates and Licenses:
  • Current Special Education licensure in a minimum of one state

OTHER REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Special Education administrative experience
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and reporting
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel; student database software; Internet research
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to support schools in their implementation of special programs
  • Ability to pass required background check

  • Experience as an online educator
  • Licensure as Special Education Director

Compensation & Benefits: We anticipate the salary range to be $80,000-$90,000. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
