General Purpose
The Employee Health Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for facilitation and coordination of occupational health programs in partnership with human resources, safety and infection prevention and in alignment with legal, regulatory requirements and STRIDE business priorities. Serves as the organization’s resource in assuring knowledge and compliance with all governmental agency regulations dealing with safety, infection prevention, and wellness in the workplace. Acts as liaison between employees, supervisors, human resources, and the nursing department when addressing health, safety and infection prevention concerns. May also coordinate and lead respective activities designed to prevent, assess and treat injuries, infectious activities and/or hazardous exposures.
Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities

Physically, the role may require lifting up to 40 lbs, as well as activities such as sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, walking, climbing stairs, and repetitive reaching. Mentally, the position involves analyzing, coordinating, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and applying interpersonal skills to perform essential job functions effectively.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day
This position is exempt and may require work outside standard hours/shifts and in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.
We offer a competitive salary/hourly range of $72,000 - $96,000, depending on your experience.
This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.

May also coordinate and lead respective activities designed to prevent, assess and treat injuries, infectious activities and/or hazardous exposures.
Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities
- Works with Nursing Leadership Team to establish and maintain programs.
- Establish protocols to respond to pandemics and communicable diseases within the workplace staying current on department of health guidance, regulatory requirements, recommending and implementing policy changes, maintaining oversight of employee illness, exposure and vaccine exemption management processes.
- Develop, implement, and optimize written infection prevention plan(s) appropriate for the Federally Qualified Health Center setting as informed by state and federal regulators, accreditation requirements, and best practices. Examples include but are not limited to: sterilization, dental waterline, bloodborne pathogens, respiratory protection, tuberculosis, COVID-19.
- Conduct ongoing surveillance/risk assessments.
- Performs new hire, new volunteer, and annual health assessments, immunizations to ensure employees are compliant with onboarding and ongoing employment requirements. Maintains summaries and reports required for employee annual updates and notifications of upcoming mandatory follow up visits.
- Gathers and presents statistical data to appropriate committees, executive team and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Perform accurate and timely documentation and maintain employee health records in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
- Conducts surveillance and follow-up of employee exposures to communicable diseases.
- Provides employee health services related to employee onboarding and annual requirements.
- Communicates pertinent information to appropriate staff regarding state/federal mandated health programs.
- Demonstrates sound clinical knowledge and judgement in assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of employees.
- Participates in applicable committees designed to oversee workplace safety, employee health and wellness as well as other applicable committees.
- Develop policies and procedures to align with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain oversight of the OSHA program including injury reporting, annual compliance requirements.
- Provide education to employees about hazards, workplace safety practices, MSDS, bloodborne pathogen program.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Maintain patient/staff confidentiality in accordance with Federal and State law and organization policies.
- Pursue educational opportunities to stay current in the practice of Ambulatory and Infection Control/Prevention Nursing
- Will respond to potential infectious disease outbreaks within the organization and externally.

- Required: Bachelors of Science in Nursing
- Required: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred.
- Required: 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in employee health, occupational health, infection prevention to include injury and hazardous exposure management, immunizations, communicable diseases, knowledge of worker’s compensation procedures and regulations, knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, ADAAA Legislation.

- Analyze and synthesize data to determine the appropriate solution to the issue at hand.
