Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Use behavioral therapy techniques to promote skill development in areas such as communication, social interaction, and daily living activities (ADLs)
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including grooming, feeding, and hygiene routines, ensuring comfort and safety
- Collect accurate data on client behaviors and progress to inform ongoing treatment planning
- Support teaching sessions by reinforcing positive behaviors and managing challenging behaviors through effective behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistency in intervention strategies and support client goals
Requirements
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or eligibility to obtain certification prior to employment
- Provide direct 1:1 ABA to children ages 4-18 in home-based and community based settings.
- Experience working with children or individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and data collection methods
- Ability to assist clients with ADLs and implement teaching strategies tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude toward supporting behavioral health and development
- Must be available during after-school hours: 4 PM – 7 PM, as many sessions occur during this timeframe.
- Mandatory 2 years experience working in the ABA field
Preferred but not required:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field.
- Students enrolled in an ABA Masters program
